Every year at this time there is “pent up” energy that goes along with the first signs of spring.
Namely action hero Chef Louie jumps into action with BBQ tongs and spatula to do the first of many miniature cremations on the grill, everything from that prized T-Bone steak to Chicken kabob skewers.
This year is no different than any other, in that spring has arrived with a sputter rather than a grand entrance. This of course does not deter action hero Chef Louie as he is motivated, to once again relive that primal urge to chow down on those delectable tasty morsels.
Today Chef Louie has donned his BBQ grab, marinated the meats to be grilled and steps outdoors to do the BBQ. This year is different however as the family moved to a new abode last summer and there are a few things that didn’t get done before winter set in. Lynette the Matriarch, Hostess, and Ruler of the Universe of said residence, laughed uncontrollably as Chef Louie stepped off the porch into the mire of mud in the back yard. Chef Louie sank up to his ankle with one foot and catapulted forward, landing completely horizontal in the muck. Fortunately Lynette the Matriarch, Hostess, and Ruler of the Universe of said residence, was holding the tray of goodies for the BBQ and the only crime against Chef Louie’s humanity was the mud that oozed from his pride.
Seems to me that we agreed on building a deck off the kitchen last summer, Lynette the Matriarch, Hostess, and Ruler of the Universe of said residence hissed with delight, along with a new patio door.
This time Chef Louie knew his position for argument was weak, took his lumps and went to get cleaned up before the crew arrived for dinner. After a quick shower and relocating the BBQ to safer grounds Chef Louie proceeded with making dinner.
Just as Lynette was setting the table and greeting the guests, Chef Louie charges in looking distraught.
OMG I forgot to fill the propane tank for the BBQ and it ran out. Lynette smiled broadly as she said, I guess that we should have put in a natural gas connection also. Remember our friend Orville the plumber/gas fitter said he could do it, maybe you should ask him tonight since he and his wife are coming this evening as well:)
Louie Orville Lynette are a product of fiction, although it never hurts to prepare for a great BBQ season. Enjoy yours and remember to hire an expert.
