Aging At Home Bathroom In a Downtown Condo

Here again we have another tub to shower conversion. The shower valve is a Grohe Tempesta Cosmopolitan slide rail set with a Concetto Chrome trim. We, of course, installed vertical grab bars on either side of the shower and a horizontal one along the back wall, as well as a fold up shower seat. The tile selected was Silver Grey 1″x 1″ mosaic for the floor, Boreal Silver 12″ x 24″ for the walls and Gypsea Midas glass mosaic for the accent strip. The toilet is a one piece Caravelle comfort height toilet.

Our most recent project was a neat little bathroom renovation in a high-rise in downtown Edmonton. The interesting thing about this renovation was the fact that almost immediately after signing off on the project, we were told by the client that the condo board was having an asbestos remediation company come in to remove some asbestos from her suite. In order to get at the asbestos, they removed pretty much everything in the bathroom. Lucky for us, we didn’t have much demo work to do. Here is a look at the finished pictures of the bathroom and a fun shot or two of me having a bit of fun on the job.

The Vanity

Aging in place bathroom reno vanity with Dorian Grey Corian countertop.

The vanity features a pullout cabinet on the right side, full extension drawers and soft close drawers and doors. The color is Dorian Grey and the door style is called Ultra Modern. The counter top is made from Corian in a beautiful color called Rain Cloud. The top features a white Corian integrated sink and a Riobel Equinox one hole faucet in chrome. The mirror, which was not installed when the photo was taken is a custom bevel edged mirror.

Having a bit of fun

Sometimes, it’s very easy to tell that I have an odd sense of humor…or maybe I just don’t get out very often. The fact is that I really enjoy my work and I often take a few moments to have a little fun by snapping a few pictures. This bathroom turned out well, the client was super to work with and the project was enjoyable through and through.
