Planning the ultimate Easter Weekend celebration for friends and family can be a daunting task. Today it seems that everyone’s take on a perfect Easter Weekend celebration will mean different things to different people. We are no longer a society that celebrates solely because of religious or cultural beliefs, but one that celebrates the holidays sometimes, to, well just celebrate.

So I would like to challenge the conventional by giving my take on the “Perfect Bird”. Despite the fact that everyone else in the family simply loves to devour said traditional Bird and become almost comatose in doing so, I on the other hand do not.

My take on an Easter Dinner that would be fit for a King would be the “Tailgater’s Picnic” .

This of course is the picnic planned for a warm Easter Weekend say anything above -5 C and of course the absolute necessity of the open fire pit BBQ. This strictly is not a one course dinner but rather a four course delight.

Appetizers

Salmon Lox, Cream Cheese on Melba Toast

or

Bruschetta on Toasted Baguettes

Main Course

Charbon De Bois Saucisse (Hot Dogs)

Corn on the Cob Slathered in Butter

Salads

Potato salad

No others need apply

Dessert

Spearmint String Licorice

It’s not everyday that you would prepare a feast like this for you and your family, so pay attention to detail, experiment a little and above all, have a little fun with your Easter celebration.

If it’s been awhile since you’ve done up a fine spread like this and your unsure of the recipe to follow or you would like to try out my recipe send a receipt of a donation to your favourite charity and I will email my recipe to you.
